Southington North Little League

As part of our process for creating equitable teams each season we perform a player assessment prior to creating the teams. This season, we are introducing a new divison in our Minors age groups, and, as a result, players with at least one year of coach pitch should plan to attend a player evaluation this spring. We'll break this up over a number of days with players of different age groups and will follow with more specific details.

In an effort to sort teams early, and get the season off in March, we'll need to complete evaluations for the oldest age groups first and work backward, so we are targeting February evaluations this year for Majors aged players.

Below is some important information about the process for our 2024 season:

What should I bring:

·        Baseball Glove

·        Water bottle

·        Bat (if you have one)

·        Batting Helmet (if you have one)  

What should my Player Expect:

Players will be evaluated in three major categories:

·        Hitting

·        Fielding (Ground balls and fly balls)

·        Throwing

Pitching will also be evaluated. 

Your player is not expected to proficient in these activities. Evaluations based on their performance will help coaches best position them for success and growth during the season.

What time should my player arrive:

Players should plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early for their allotted evaluation time slot.

·       2/18/24 - 1:30 - 2:15 - Returning Major's Players and League Age 12's (Players should arrive at 1:00 to register)

·       2/18/24 - 2:15 - 3:00 - League Age 11's and League Age 10's (Players should arrive at 1:45 to register)

·       2/25/24 - 2:15 - 3:00 - League Age 8's and 9's (Players should arrive at 1:45 to register)

·       3/3/24 - 12:00 - 1:00 - League Age 6's and 7's (Players should arrive at 11:30 to register)
